The Sport of Kings may have typified racing in bygone eras, we now appreciate that many people besides royalty and nobility wish to be a part of racing.
Here at St Wendred’s we actively encourage new owners to join us and experience a new approach to a sport that has enthralled and captivated for centuries.
Myself, my husband Stéphane and our daughter Eléa have turned the historic St Wendred’s into our home. Once the home of Bill O’Gorman, trainer of Timeform’s 1984 Horse of the Year, Provideo, the purpose built 32 box yard is functional and modern yet steeped in history.
The premises coupled with veterinary expertise mean we are determined to do what is best for the horse to maximise wellbeing, welfare and therefore enduring success. We utilise unique methods such as GPS, stride and heart rate monitor equinITy to give a scientific reasoning to our training methods.
Such success has been a part of our ethos since when I first took out my license where I had my first runner in a valuable sales race in Germany who dead-heated first to claim £29,000.
Unafraid to think and act differently, we see each horse as an individual that can provide someone with that euphoric feeling of owning a winner, whether it be your first or one of many.
We aim to make people feel a part of a yard rather than just producing an invoice at the end each month. Owners are welcome to visit the yard and kept in the loop through our newsletter service and detailed feedback prior to and after racing.
Inclusive and honest we aim to make racing fun and offer various forms of ownership from sole owners to syndicates of many. We understand syndication is an important entry point for many to racing and encourage you to get in touch if you would like to join a syndicate and need our help sourcing partners.
