Gansera-Leveque Racing is proud to announce a new partnership with Haygain. We are now very lucky to be sponsored by two top innovative equestrian companies. Haygain & long term supporters Racing Blue are leaders in their fields for equine health. Their products are invaluable to us in maintaining and improving the overall performance and nutrition of our horses at Saint Wendred’s.
Having companies like Haygain & Racing Blue on board with us fits with my marginal gains philosophy – we pay attention to every detail and always make every small improvement possible to try to achieve the best results…
Haygain: Scientifically proven – the world’s best hay steamer
The benefit of hay steaming
Steaming both hay and haylage in a Haygain steamer is a method of reducing respirable particles, bacteria and mould in forage by up to 99%. The result is a clean, sweet-smelling and highly palatable forage free from potential allergens. Steamed forage retains its digestibility, minerals, protein and fibre. Sugar content (water soluble carbohydrate – WSC) is slightly reduced by steaming, but this is lower than when soaked, meaning steamed hay retains a higher proportion of its nutritional value than soaked hay. Steamed hay also encourages fussy eaters to eat.

“Our background lies in cutting-edge science and here at Racing Blue we pride ourselves on only using the highest quality ingredients to produce our unique products, which have been proven both in our and other laboratories, as well as on international racecourses, tracks and competition circuits.
Racing Blue created STORM®, a revolutionary product that supports training, performance, and recovery and this has been introduced initially into the equestrian world. Our scientists were intimately involved in the research that underpins STORM®; this was carried out in the UK at The Animal Health Trust and the work was subsequently published in the Equine Veterinary Journal. We are proud to say that in this instance the equestrian world led the way, since the research was instigated in equine athletes before being followed up very successfully in humans. Today, the fruits of our scientific discoveries benefit athletes of different species at the highest international levels.”
